Few days ago, we finished moving my wife’s and my office for the third time since September. She wasn’t happy in the downstairs space, wasn’t happy in my office with the big desk, and she’s finally happy in what used to be the guest room.

This means I have my space to hang my photos from Rome.

Kinja'd!!!

I took these in December, and I sure hope well be able to go again as we made it our  Christmas tradition to hit Rome for a week between Christmas and new year.

All of these were taken with iPhone 11 Pro and photos had no issues being blown to 12x12”.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

My office is ready for work! Alas, I sit on the couch and watch Netflix 95% of the time while I’m working on my laptop.

Those are some seriously nice photos. Good work! That is as good a motivator as any to keep working, seeing what type of fun adventures you can go on in the future.

Will Ferrell would be pleased with your movie quality light saber. (and yes, the photos are fantastic too)

Awesome!!! I still have dreams of having a 500 someday....126p is more likely as 500s are out of my price bracket for nice ones and the 126p has the same underpinnings, so same driving character...

Very nice photos though...I feel bad for the blue one with the face dent!

Saber is amazing. Wish I could upload a video of playing in the dark with my wife’s lil bro and his Kylo Ren version.

Blue was slightly out of the nice part of town so I’m not shocked by the condition. Let’s say that the peeling paint on the building behind isn’t there for charm.

126P is just not the same. I grew up in a Zastava 750 so that’s why I like these a lot. 126p was always just a “Peglica” - little ironing iron.

Not too bad considering the back wire holder moves so it’s impossible to measure correctly. It’s all about the feel :)

It’s an amazing city. Tickets around Christmas are $1000 for a week - airfare and hotel included, from Denver.

Here are a few to give you the idea.

Oh, I like the looks of the 500 more, but the 126p has the same engine and transmission (though with synchromesh, unlike the 500), so they drive very similarly....

Considering I can get a 126p imported to Canada in good shape from Poland for like $6-7K CAD and a 500 in good shape over here is more like $12-15K...126p it is! :)

If I ever have the money though, I’d own both, haha! Wouldn’t mind a FIAT 600/Zastava 750 some day either!

...or a Piaggio Ape TM....I also really want one of those...and a Trabant....and an FSO Polonez Caro...

I don’t think my wife would let me drive any of those in USA.. but maybe I can find one for rent next time I am in Rome :)

Ooh I very much like the collection of ornate door photos. I like trying to capture the essence of a place by taking photos of details rather than wide shots.

Kind of like this. I just walked around a bi t today with my phone camera.

I’ve hung a million. I worked in a furniture store. These cheap Ikea frames are easy when you need to do one, but a PITA when you want a pattern.

The Polonez is actually quite safe (despite the lack of airbags) :)

“ An advantage of Polonez is its passive safety. In 1978, it was the only Eastern European car built to pass U.S. crash tests. Crash tests were performed in 1994 according to EU safety regulations so that the Polonez could be exported worldwide. They proved the car to be very safe. The Caro 1.9 GLD hitting a concrete block (without an energy-absorbing metal cage) with 40% of the front at 50 km/h (31 mph) survived very well. All doors could be opened without any difficulty, there were no critical injuries for passengers, and no fuel leakage occurred.”

Yup, that is the idea, and I have a mild obsession with doors. It started when we were in Cuba, and now twice in Italy, I have quite a collection.

I love the graff iti on the last one. Here is one of mine from Denver

Oh yes the graffiti really adds a grittiness to a photo. I especially like your street candids and the passing cars. It sort of an immersive experience, as if you are walking down a street . I like it.

Kinja'd!!!

I’m gonna go back to Old Car City USA soon and I know a lot more about photography than last time I went. I’m expecting some better results thisn time.

I love the car wall with the Co rvair ! Dilapidated RVs are very depressing...

If you like to immerse yourself in places, if you like street candids and grittiness, go to Cuba.  You’ll never regret it.

That’s high up on my list.

Wi thin the week hopefully I'll have enough photos to bombard Oppo with pictures for another year if need be. I'm going to go tomorrow if they are open, but they didn't answer the phone.
